Ben Wilson as your Instructor
Ben needs little introduction to the kitesurfing world - get into our community to see his pictures & videos.
Your first session is filmed as an initial assessment of your skill level. Ben will then go through your personal goals for the week and create a progression plan for the week. Each day you will have the opportunity to have one-on-one coaching with Ben!

The location of the kitesurf wave camp has been chosen because of the consistent trade winds and good surf!

Day 1: Arrive in Barbados & hit the water!
Upon your arrival in Barbados, head to the organised meeting place to meet your fellow kitesurfers, Ben Wilson and the other instructors. Then we fit the mountain of kites, boards and gear into the vehicle and head off to the camp venue. If the conditions are right, you can hit the water immediately, either for a surf, or kitesurf! If the wind and waves are on, we'll do the first "assessment" session this afternoon so that Ben and the team can evaluate your riding and progression plan in the evening after dinner. D

Days 2 - 6: Surfing in the morning & kitesurfing in the afternoon
Each day you can make the most of the Barbados surf and wind. Our basic schedule normally goes like this:
- 6am - hit the water for a glassy surf session
- 8am - have a leisurely breakfast followed by another surf or massage
- 11am - pump up and get some one-on-one instruction on the beach from Ben and the team
- 12noon onwards - have lunch and kitesurf all afternoon
- 6pm - video feedback & discussion
- 8pm - dinner & bed!
Most nights everyone crashes pretty early due to tired and sore muscles, and to be ready for action the following day. B/L/D

Day 7: Morning surf before heading home
Depending on your flight times, you may have time for a morning surf, or even an afternoon kite before heading to the airport. B

Kitesurfing & Surfing in the Waves
The location for this trip is chosen because of the consistent trade winds and great waves. There are waves on the inside close to shore, and bigger waves on the reef approximately 200m offshore. The surf can get big out on the reef!
Check out the photos and videos in our community from past trips and travellers - you can even ask them questions and get advice!

For this reason, there are no refunds due to lack of suitable weather conditions. For further details, please see our detailed Terms and Conditions of Travel.
Air Travel
Airfares to and from the departure point for this trip are not included in the land cost. We are happy to provide a quote for your domestic and/or international travel, or you can source your own airfares via the internet or your preferred travel agent. Please be sure to check your tickets with our staff before purchasing or obtaining your tickets. We need to verify your arrival and departure schedule and ensure we have enough participants to operate the trip.
Seasonal Considerations
At 13° north of the equator, Barbados has a moderate tropical climate. This trip takes place during the dry season when temperatures are around 82 degrees during the day and approximately 74 degrees at night.
So you should be prepared for warm weather and pack accordingly - the pre-departure information pack provided once you've booked will outline exactly what you'll need to pack for this trip.
Accommodations
To maximise the “local” aspect of our adventures, wherever possible we avoid staying in large hotels or “tourist traps”. We prefer to stay in accommodations that would normally be frequented by the locals, thereby giving us more opportunities to travel like locals, and meet locals. On this tour the accommodation is a beach house.
First Aid
We provide a comprehensive expedition first aid kit but prefer everyone to be independent with basic first aid items. Your personal first aid kit should include: Pain killers, Plasters (Band-Aids), strapping tape, anti-biotic cream, general anti-biotics (ask your GP), Diamox, throat lozenges, re- hydration salts & other personal medication of your choice. Please be sure to read the comprehensive pre-departure pack for this trip to get an understanding of what to expect and what to bring.
